Green Slime Tastes Good!

Does this look appetizing? Maybe it does with my great photography skills, but in real life it is bright green and scary. The kicker is it is healthy for you and tastes delicious! I got the idea from my brother Tyson and his wife Audra. They said they mixed pineapple juice and spinach in the blender. They said it was good, so I had to try it. I did and it tasted too healthy for me, so I added a banana, a handful of strawberries, and some ice. I created a healthy, tropical smoothie. You know it is good when your 3 year old says things like, "This is so good," and "Mmm this is delicious!" Kylie kept saying things like that as she ate it with a spoon. Kylie is eating vegetables and she likes it! So if you want to try it here is the recipe:

Tropical Spinach Smoothie
In blender mix:
3-4 cups spinach
1 banana
5-6 strawberries
1/2 c. ice
1/2- 1 c. Dole pineapple juice (the cheap brand was not sweet)
1/2 c. vanilla yogurt (opt.)

Thanks for the recipe. I am sure we will give it a try since getting Halle to eat vegetables is a nightmare!! Do you have anymore "good" recipes that I can trick her with?

I'm going to try it. It's pretty green looking to me, despite your awesome photo skills. Thanks for the tips!

Hi Jessica! So glad I found your blog- your kids are SO BIG! Wow, Dash was just a tiny baby when we left. Looks like you are doing well. Are you guys still in the 146th ward? You're not still RS pres are you? : )

I've actually made something similar! I use oranges, spinach, kale (sometimes), a banana, berries and ice. You can cram a whole lotta spinach in there and it still tastes good! Jeff wasn't too fond of it though so I haven't made it that often. My friend calls is grinch juice! I feel super healthy, then it balances out those delicious cupcakes=)

Jess, my sister in law makes these shakes too (it's a mott thing I guess) and she uses frozen pineapple pieces and then just a scoop of frozen oj with pineapple and bannana. I thought this was the best idea because I've only been able to find the huge containers of pineapple juice and I don't make these consistent enough to alway have a gallon of pineapple juice in my fridge.
